LOCAL ADVOCACY & LEADERSHIP TEAMSThe Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) remains committed to protecting and promoting Oregon's restaurant and lodging industry through local, statewide and federal advocacy. ORLA has helped develop several local leadership teams that help keep members engaged and informed on local-level issues. Portland has two, very engaged leadership teams representing restaurants and lodging operators, that meet several times a year.

PORTLAND KITCHEN CABINET
The Portland Kitchen Cabinet (PKC) is a civic engagement group committed to growing and preserving opportunity in the restaurant industry and strengthening the communities in which we live and work. This initiative works closely with nonprofit organizations and government officials to ensure that restaurants remain a strong pillar in our economy and continue to create opportunities for all. PKC is a proud partner of the National Restaurant Association. |
PORTLAND LODGING ALLIANCE
The Portland Lodging Alliance (PLA) is a volunteer-led sub-chapter of ORLA. The Lodging Alliance meets regularly to discuss local issues as well as strategies to move forward on initiatives that support Portland area businesses. The leadership team meets with policymakers, opinion leaders, community leaders and partner organizations on issues of importance and to collaborate on city-wide initiatives impacting our industry. |
These leadership teams are each focused on establishing a working group of informed, active and motivated hospitality community members to serve as industry ambassadors with policymakers, opinion leaders, community leaders and partner organizations. They are designed to build bridges and foster long-term relationships with local elected officials and the community.
REGIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAMS
In addition to Portland, ORLA also has committed leaders stepping up in other areas of the state. Regional Leadership Teams identify local hospitality-related issues, engage local chambers of commerce and business partners, convene roundtables with other operators in the area and propose solutions that benefit the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Regional Leadership Teams self-organize around geographic and competitive issues important to their service area, and leverage ORLA's staff and expertise in achieving their goals.
